“After a journey which was longer than one of Jons legendary film marathons we arrived in Berlin about three hours before we were due to go on, hot and desperate to play in order to justify our existence. We were interested to discover that the autobahns are like British roads only more effective travel systems which allow you to travel between distant places in less than one calendar year. Marvellous, although for half an hour we were trailed by what appeared to be the cast of Stephen Kings ‘Misery’. The venue (the Magnet) is exactly the type of club we’re used to playing and the show was a fucking blast. After playing hundreds of shows at home to little or no response it was incredible to play to some people who actually wanted to see us. Unfortunately two guitar leads were smashed within minutes of starting. Don’t buy Fender leads kids, they’re shit.” 09.05.02 Lübeck

“This band doesn’t have a great record of playing gigantic echoing halls and so it proved tonight, as tuning problems and malfunctioning equipment made it something of an average show. During `Alan Is A Cowboy Killer` Jons bass decided to play the theme from `Thundercats`. Backwards. Underwater. Still, respect to the venue for suprising the fuck out of everybody by providing us with a packed lunch for the next day, a concept which would make most British promoters heads spin. No encore tonight, as Mats legs stopped working half way through a final `Whoyouknow`. Jon continues to play the eccentric Britain abroad by selling T-Shirts in his dressing gown, to the lowkey delight of the local population.” 10.05.02 Bremen

“Anybody who has seen `Spinal Tap` (in particular the `Jazz Odyssey` segment) would get on with this incredible venue, so naturally I took the opportunity to say ‘He wrote this’ just before Jons “What We’ve Learned’. A hugely enjoyable show, which more than made up for the slight disappointment of last night, especially the shirtless chicken dancing down the front, although I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a chicken that drunk. Well, not since my last birthday. Thankyou to everybody who requested `Fuck This Band’. One day we might play it. Note use of the word might.”
